PreAuthDental is a documentation tool for Canadian dental offices. All PDF, Word and RTF exports are free. No account, subscription, license or credit card is required.

Patient cases stay in your browser

Patient fields, clinical notes, attachments and generated documents are processed on your device. The app does not upload these to its servers or to PostHog. It does not record sessions, capture form values or automatically track clicks.

• The active case and attachments are saved in this browser's IndexedDB. You choose whether to resume a saved case.
• Practice settings, preferences and PDF export history use localStorage. Historical license keys may remain on devices that used them.
• Browser storage and downloaded case JSON files are not encrypted by the app. Protect access to this browser, especially on shared computers.
• Clear Case removes the active case and its draft. Previous downloads and export history are separate. Clearing the site's browser data removes stored cases, settings and history.

Optional usage analytics

The “Help improve this free tool” choice on the builder is off by default. If you enable it, a small set of usage events is sent to PostHog's United States service: opening the builder, loading the sample, starting a case, successfully generating a PDF download, copying the public share link and sending feedback.

Events contain a random browser identifier, a broad referral source (such as Reddit or a shared link), and whether a PDF came from the sample or a non-sample case. They never contain patient names, clinical findings, procedure codes, attachment names, document contents, feedback text or the full page URL. The random identifier lets us estimate repeat use; it does not verify a person's identity or represent a count of clinics.

PostHog receives the network request when analytics is enabled, including connection information needed to deliver it. We do not send your IP address as an event field; events request that location enrichment and person profiles be disabled. See PostHog's privacy policy.

Turn off the same choice at any time to stop future events and remove the browser's analytics identifier. This does not delete events already received by PostHog. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals disable these events. The tool works fully with analytics off.

Feedback and sharing

Feedback sends the comments you choose to write and UI target information to the operator. Never include patient information. Sharing copies only a public website link; it does not attach or link your case.

Hosting and existing purchases

Vercel serves this website and may process normal web request information. Recovery endpoints for previous license purchases remain available through Stripe, but new purchases are disabled. Existing purchased license keys are no longer needed to export documents.

Clinical review and device security

This is a documentation aid, not medical advice, a submission service or a coverage guarantee. A qualified provider must review generated documents and current payer requirements. Clinics remain responsible for consent, device access, retention and their applicable privacy obligations.
